Italian Cookies with Orange

With Christmas just around the corner, it's time to prepare our Christmas cookies. Thank you Blanc-Manger for sharing this wonderful recipe for Italian cookies. A simple and tender biscuit light orange flavor. A single biscuit is sometimes enough to satisfy your sweet tooth after a hearty meal. Feel free to freeze. They will be just as good once thawed. You have to take a little advance if it is too much to do at the last minute.

Ingredients (about 50 cookies)

1 / 2 lb -225 g of vegetable fat whipped

4 eggs 2 cups white sugar 1
cup orange juice 8 c.
teaspoon baking powder
4 1 / 2 cups flour
2 cups powdered sugar
about 25 candied cherries, halved (red or green)

Preparation

Cut cherries in two and make them drain on paper towels.
In a bowl, mix the fat, eggs and sugar. Add the orange juice.
Mix baking powder to flour and then stir into first mixture, stirring gently with a wooden spoon.
Once everything is very smooth, take the mixture using a tablespoon and drop the contents of the spoon in a bowl filled with powdered sugar.
Gently roll the dough to coat.
Place dough balls on a cookie sheet lined with parchment paper.
Bake cookies at 350 degrees F for about 11 minutes on the top rack.
Remove from oven and place biscuits on a rack.
Add cherries in center of cookies for they are still hot.
These cookies freeze well.

Bon appetite! Ginette ☼
